Paul J. Proffitt, 81, New Ross, passed away Monday at 2:10 PM in Williamsburg Nursing Home.
Mr. Proffitt was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School. He was a farmer who also raised thousands of gladiolus for the wholesale market and selling to local florists. He was a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church.
Mr. Proffitt was born Sept. 25, 1925 in North Salem, Indiana to Rholla and Goldie Proffitt. He married Arlene Smith Proffitt on June 25, 1977 in Marietta, Georgia. She survives.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Proffitt, New Ross, as well as several nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother.
Funeral services will he held Thursday at 10:30 AM in Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville with Reverend Steve Wilke officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, North Salem. Calling will be Wednesday from 4-7 at the funeral home.
